Nike x Liberty- Refreshing The Classics

When it comes to shoes I’m more for flats than heels despite having way more heels than flats. Isn’t that always the way? My flats of preference are ballet shoes, hardly ever trainers or sneakers but the Nike x Liberty collection have me doing a rethink, falling head over heels in love. Who’d have thought I’d be the one wearing trainers with dresses to meetings etc after years of side eyeing women who wear trainers with dresses? I guess I’m never gonna say never again.

This collection is even more special than previous ones and a refresh on the classics- the Airmax or 110s as we called them back in the di-zay, remember them?! wrapped in vintage Liberty prints going back to the 30s. That Nike attitude perfectly compliments the classic quirkiness of the Liberty print. I guess one day, when we all weren’t looking, trainers crept up and completely changed the game. Editors and fashion “insiders” have been spotted on the front rows with their kicks and they have become go to schlepping shoes but without the beat up factor.

Nike x Liberty3 copyThe Nike x Liberty collection run a pretty mean game from what I’ve seen and felt. I bought a pair; the blue Liberty Internationalists, covered in two different prints;  Lora, based on the 1970 version of William Morris’s Willow pattern and Anoosha, Liberty own in-house print from the 30s. I’ve worn those trainers everyday since. I can certainly vouch for them; comfortable and perfect for most everything. I love them so much I’m about to get me another pair. Well worth your buck.
