LFW. Look to Love; The Charm Offensive.

London is known as the rebel at heart of the fashion industry; we do things the way we want to, there’s never an overarching theme, you never know what to expect from one show to the next. But what we do best in London, is put things a little to the left; offbeat. Something gets thrown in there and makes things a little off kilter, a pattern, a cut, a patch of cloth…something is always off but in that quintessential way that makes it okay. In the Autumn winter shows, there was a lot of that of course, but there was an infusion of charm in these looks, charming patterns, a touch of frou-frou…it was sweet but not too, too, married with quirk so it wasn’t cookie cutter. Nothing about it was average. The kookiness of Dame Viv alongside Peter Pilotto’s perfect palette of graphics and patterns, the classic prep of Mulberry with a touch of the nerdy from Preen, prints and sheer without looking queer. Autumn Winter is the season to turn on your charm offensive.
